The oldest actively sailed and commissioned US military vessel currently afloat, USCGC Eagle (WIX-327) is a 295’ Barque originally built by the German Navy in 1936 as “Horst Wessel”, and taken by the United States following World War II as war reparation.

A beautiful vessel built in the twilight of the age of sail, Eagle and her sister ships continue to sail the world’s oceans in the manner they were intended, as sail training ships teaching their trainees the inherent leadership and teamwork lessons that come from sailing while serving as goodwill ambassadors for their respective services at every port call.
